5 Questions With...Talli Roland

It's time for another 5 questions with and this week I couldn't be more excited to announce that this week I have 5 answers for you from the ever so lovely Talli Roland.

Aswell as writing fabulous fiction books, this talented writer also makes time to write the "24 Hours" travel guides under the name Marsha Moore AND her very own blog which you can see here.

Questions

1. How old were you when you started reading and what was the first book you read properly and enjoyed?
Wow, you’re really stretching my mind with this one! I might have been five when I first started? I really enjoyed Anne of Green Gables when I was younger. I just loved her attitude and spirit.

2. How long did it take you to write your first book?
I wrote my first book when I was thirteen. After a series of stops and starts, I finally completed it after two years. It’s never seen the light of day, despite my attempts back then to get it published! I take it out and glance through it every once in a while when I want a good giggle.

3. What gives you inspiration when planning a new book?
I tend to write about modern aspects of today’s society like YouTube, reality TV and cosmetic surgery, so most of my inspiration comes from the Daily Mail, a British tabloid. I’m fascinated by how trends in society influence behavior.

4. When your writing a book when and how do you reward yourself?
I plough through my daily target of 3,000 words, knowing that at the end of the day, a lovely glass brimming with wine will be mine for the slurping. It’s one of my favourite daily moments . . . I call it wine o’clock.

5. Where is your favourite place to write?
My home office overlooks a very busy central London street, which always provides an endless source of entertainment when I’m stuck. I love sitting at my desk and watching the world go by as I create characters on the page. I’ve tried writing in coffee shops and cafes, but sadly I tend to get distracted with all that lovely caffeine in abundance and drink so much coffee my hands start shaking.

That's all for todays 5 Questions with.  Talli Rolands latest book 'To Build a Man' is out now.

Next week the same five questions will be answered by the lovely Amy Silver.  I also have a book review of hers going up which I will try and incorporate the same day.

Thanks for reading everyone! xx
